Some of the posts on this blog cover products that are sponsored. Sometimes I receive fabrics or other products at no cost to me. Despite this, all opinions are my own, and neither do I use any prepared text from the sponsors, nor do I get paid for the blog post. If I link to shops and products, I do so on my own will, and do not get paid for it. Most of the craft supplies I show or talk about have been purchased by me, or I have on my own will asked the company for a sample, and have not been required to blog about it.

The Retro Pillow Challenge

Oh how Retro! I was invited to join the Retro Pillow Challenge by Rikka and Karen. Thank you for the invite!

I went for a modern and playful interpretation of the retro. The following photos show how I developed the concept and went about creating the pillow. I was dying to try the reversed applique from Rikkas's Tutorial and this seemed to be the perfect project.
Voting starts in October, so be sure to check it out and vote for the design you like. This was fun and Tina loves her new owlie!

Made some matching buttons out of Fimo...

The back of the pillow looks like this

And the front...

Owlie was lonely, so she got a mini pillow to accompany her

Someone was happy...

By the way, please notice that I have finally finished my felt ball carpet. I like the overall composition in this corner of the room. What do u think?
