Me Made Mittwoch

Tina does not like to wear bought jeans. She complains that they are too tight and pinch and so on. It is difficult to buy wide pants with elastic on top (so she can easily go to the bathroom by herself). I found this great and easy Ben and Mia Pants e-pattern at the LilyBirdStudio.
They are easy to make and fit well. Tina likes wearing them. They look great plain and with some applique (here I did free motion applique with the sewing machine) for smaller children. The best part is that they will fit for a long time. They will get shorter, but will fit in the waste.

Fisch am Freitag- Fish on Friday

Today I am linking up again to a grat German blog of Andiva. It is Fish on Friday Day!
Our fish today was a wooden bead necklace with a felt rainbow fish and a felt brooch. The fish on the necklace is done with a special dispersion glue (same methos as used here) and the brooch with ironable textile bling.

This was another one that I made as a gift for a pretty little girl in France.

Me Made Mittwoch - Birthday Crowns

Remember the very first crown for Tina and then the next one for Leni. That was already quiet a difference in craftsmanship :-)
Here some new crowns for little girls and boys. The applique is done with free motion embroidery and the exchangeable numbers are done with the embroidery machine.

For the alien boy a matching pillow.

I amlinking this project at Me Made Mittwoch.

This was made to order for a colleague of mine. She choose the fabrics, I did the rest :-)
Free motion embroidery and iron on velour were used to construct this cute present.

Another one I made for friends couple of moths ago.

Me Made Mittwoch

Funny enough, Me Made Mittwoch is a great link party not in the English speaking blog- land, but in the good old Germany where I live. And even funnier, the name of this great hosting blog is Cat und Kascha. Do you see the similiarity to my name? My name is written in polish - KASIA- pronounced Kascha. So I am taking my chance today and linking up at Cat und Kascha!

My deer friend helped me to make the very first skirt- thingy for myself. Yes, for myself! Ok, Tina got one as well because as I showed her my skirt, she looked at it from all sides and said: "that is nice, can you put it in my cabinet next to all the other skirts?" So, I had a problem. If I were to put this skirt on, my little pea pod would freak out that I am wearing her stuff. Hmmm - and now?

My dear Elisabeth came to the rescue and made me a pattern from that skirt to fit Tina. Thank you Elisabeth!

Another small thing I wanted to show you is something I made for Elisabeth. When we were sewing our skirts at her place, her overlock was sliding all over the place. Elisabeth loves pink. So she got a pink anti- skid mat for her machine!

I sewed an anti skid material under the felt and made the bird from Spoolsewing as a pin cushion, filled with steel wool to sharpen the pins.

Do mice play with birds?

another pillow using the free motion technique. This is a great way to use some scraps. I like the sketchy look of this type of application.

Recycle Friday

Taday I am linking some throw away PET bottles gone jewelry at a German kolleague's Made by Nina.

Gone fishin...

A great German illustrator, Anja Rieger (I love her designs!) was hosting a "FISH ON FRIDAY" every Friday.
The fish swimmed to another great German site from Andiva
I decided to join in the fun. Here is my fish this friday... free motion embroidery to make u smile.

Got a carrot? A horsey pillow

I have been making lots of pillows nowadays. Some of them for my internet shop, others for a local store that was kind enough to accept many of my creations on commision.

The applique is made using the free motion technique and the design is from my own drawing.

Button jar brooch

this one is not quiet finished yet. It was inspired by a drwaing I have seen somewhere on the net. Sorry I cannot give credit, as I do not remember where I have seen it.

This brooch is wool felt combined with my plastic PET Bottle chips.
