Some of the posts on this blog cover products that are sponsored. Sometimes I receive fabrics or other products at no cost to me. Despite this, all opinions are my own, and neither do I use any prepared text from the sponsors, nor do I get paid for the blog post. If I link to shops and products, I do so on my own will, and do not get paid for it. Most of the craft supplies I show or talk about have been purchased by me, or I have on my own will asked the company for a sample, and have not been required to blog about it.

Glass Beads

There are hundreds of glass beads out there. Over the years, glass beads have taken a significant place in custom and or bridge jewelry design. What many people do not know is that there are many glass beads out there that are more expensive than some of the gemstone beads.
pls ignore the ceramic, wood and coconut beads - got too excited about taking pix:)

Seed Beads
I use small glass seed beads from a Japanese Company Miyuki. They are of a very high quality and offer a wide range of colors.

Hand Made Glass beads
like those from fine Murano Glass with real Gold or Sterling Silver inclusions are my favorite and can as mentioned before be more expensive than gemstones. Other hand made glass beads are coming from China and India and have often silver or gold foil inclusions. Those are less expensive than the Murano Glass, but if you purchase a good quality, equally beautiful. I have also gotten some amazing hand made glass beads with silver or gold inclusions in the Chech Republic. There are also many Glass Artisans who make some amazing lampwork beads.

Other Glass Beads
Some of my favorite are the faceted crystal glass bicone beads from Swarovski® and some types of the fire polished, bicone, pressed glass or druk beads from Czech Republic. The beads from Swarovski® are of a very good quality. They are machine cut and have a beautiful lustre. The Chech beads are machine faceted and then fire polished. They are also very attractive but the facets are not as precise as in those from the Austrian company.
